All of the parks offer swimming and boating access, with the exception of Point Park, which is located on the point and has private property on all sides. The gardens are perfect for hiking or picnicking in warmer months but also enjoy the lakeside during winter when it’s a little too cold for them to be used for swimming and boating. Each Park offers a great view of Canyon Lake and the dam. The Park is located near San Antonio, Texas, by the lake. All visitors to the Park are admitted for free.

The Canyon Overlook Park is extremely popular for its scenic views. The Park is open daily from sunrise to sunset and offers free entry to all visitors. There’s plenty of parking, so you can easily access the Park. Once you’re there, take a walk along the dam walkway and enjoy the stunning views of Canyon Lake below. If you get too hot, don’t worry – there’s an excellent spot for swimming right next to the walkway!

The Canyon Lake Gorge was created in 2002 due to the flooding of the Guadalupe River. The gorge is a geological wonder that exposes the earth after floods from a dam erode it. Comal Park Beach also has a current wind speed of 10 mph, but it’s one of our favorite swimming places because the water is always so clear and blue. The average wind direction at this beach is 86 degrees, making it perfect for swimming any time of day or night!
